Getting organized

Yes, we live in smallish two bedroom condo. No, we don't have a ton of space (hence the storage unit). But we have gotten very good at keeping our "stuff" to a minimum, and we have learned to be creative with how we store things.

I really wanted to get a pretty bookcase to put in the nursery. I looooove books (this also hurts our storage issue...), and I want my son to be surrounded by them and learn to love them, too.

But his room is pretty small, and one entire wall is taken up by a closet (which is GREAT for storage but not so great for arranging furniture). A bookcase likely isn't going to fit. So I opted for something that would serve several purposes: a closet storage unit that could hold some basic baby stuff and also display some books and stuffed animals.

Organization can be cute:

The bins will hold bibs, pacifiers, burp cloths, wash cloths and bottles. The shelves will hold books, stuffed animals and blankets. It's inside a closet, but why can't a closet be cute when you open it?

Unfortunately, it did mean another assembly project for Mike. This was the second project of the weekend for the poor guy. But I think his assembly skills are improving -- he's becoming rather quick at it!

Meanwhile, I did my first ever load of baby laundry (all those bibs and blankets that went into the bins). Yes, we take pictures of absolutely everything; you should probably get used to it:
