I can no longer sleep fully on my stomach.
SIGH.
I am a stomach sleeper from way back. It is practically the only way I can fall asleep (unless I'm on the couch, in which case I seem able to fall asleep no matter what my position is).
I laid down on my stomach last night so Mike could give me a back rub (LOVE him), and after about 3 minutes, I had to call it quits. I felt like I was smooshing poor Ryan, and he was nudging me in protest.
Then I woke up several times in the middle of the night, on my stomach, feeling like I was laying on a speed bump and worrying that I was suffocating the heck out of him (I know, I know, he's fine. It's more uncomfortable for me than him.)
I can still sort of half sleep on my stomach/half sleep on my side, which helps but isn't quite the same. It seems that I spend most of my nights either trying to get comfortable or stumbling back and forth from the bed to the bathroom. Ah well. He's worth it. :)

i would lay half on a pillow. laying on your tummy right now isnt hurting him. the only way you CANT lay is flat on your back. your uterus smushes an important vein if you do.
ReplyDeleteI know, I try to avoid laying on my back, but it seems that I automatically roll onto my back a lot when I'm sleeping. Sigh. So several times a night, I wake up on my back and quickly get back on my side. I'm hoping that I'm not on my back for too long before I wake up and notice, but I have no idea. I might try to prop myself up with pillows if it continues, but I have a hard time sleeping that way.
ReplyDeleteI also tried sleeping by cradling pillows, but I get very restless at night, and it was a huge hassle. :-/ Every time I'd switch sides, I had to rearrange the pillows and get all tangled up in the sheets and such. Hahaha, I'm such a mess at night. I have a feeling that by the end of the pregnancy, I'll just be sleeping on the couch. ;)
