17 weeks

*The baby is now the size of a ... palm. Or a turnip.

*How I'm feeling: Excellent. Other than some restless sleeping, I am doing a-ok.

*Physical differences from last week: People are still telling me I'm not showing. And they're still laughing when I say that I notice a big difference (this just happened again at the dentist on Monday). But it's obvious to me and it's obvious to Mike, so I assume it will be obvious to others relatively soon.

I only have about 2 pairs of jeans and one or two pairs of work pants that still button. They're either the stretchy ones or the ones that were a bit loose pre-pregnancy (now, not so loose). All other pants are held up by my lovely tummy sleeve. I really need to get myself to the store and find more maternity pants.

Also, I busted out maternity shirts for the first time this weekend. Most of the shirts are still too big, but a couple are working as a good transition between my pre-pregnancy-and-too-clingy shirts and my too baggy maternity shirts. Kristin has a friend who is a similar size to me who had some maternity clothing left over. She gave them to Kris, who passed them along to me. (Thanks, Kris and Shannon!) The clothes are way cute. Below is one of Shannon's shirts that I wore on Saturday, for our big outing to watch some basketball games (I say "big outing" because we haven't had much time lately for one of our favorite past times: sitting in a bar, watching sports. So we were very excited to do that on Saturday.)

*What's been on my mind: Is it a boy or girl? Is it a boy or girl? Is it a boy or girl? Is it a boy or girl? Is it a boy or girl? Is it a boy or girl?

*What I'm looking forward to: Finding out if it's a boy or girl! 10 days to go.

*Other random thoughts: If I'm "eating for two," then why do I feel like I'm "hungry for seven"?

And Erica -- you sound like your brother, flipping from girl to boy! Must be genetic. He's now *convinced* it's a boy. ;)
