We are registered!

It wouldn't feel like a normal weekend without a trip to our new home-away-from-home: Babies R Us. It's only a matter of time before they know us by name.

We've had several requests from friends and family to register for a few baby items that we need. We most likely won't be having a shower, but apparently that hasn't stopped people from wanting to buy a few things! PLUS, we get a discount off of anything we register for a couple of weeks before the baby is born, so that's a huge plus.

We decided to register at Babies R Us because 1. they have practically everything, 2. their site is really easy to use and order off of, and 3. most people live near one. We thought about registering at Target, too, but their selection is a lot smaller and we just didn't think we needed a ton of stuff, so the registry would have been pretty small.

Registering was way fun. We methodically walked up and down each aisle, pondering what we needed and what we didn't (and what was too cute to pass up). It turns out that I'm surprisingly more drawn to the sports paraphernalia than Mike is, and he is more drawn to things with animals (particularly monkeys). But we do agree on the basics -- we both have fairly simple, non-cluttered taste. We like some color, but aren't really into "themes." So we usually are both drawn to the most subdued option of everything, which made it fairly easy to pick stuff out.

Of course, we couldn't leave Babies R Us without make a purchase (they keep giving me 20 percent off coupons!), so say "hello" to our new mattress and mattress cover:

Mike won an NCAA basketball pool that we entered back in March, and that is what the winnings paid for. :)

Ok, ok. I may have also bought a little outfit. But it was on clearance! And I had a 20 percent off coupon for that, too! And it was a brown fleece top and bottom with a creature on the shirt and it said "Little Monster." You wouldn't have been able to pass it up either.

  2. I think they said a week or two before the due date... maybe I'm wrong... maybe it was a week or two after the due date. Pregnancy brain is preventing me from remembering. :)
