22 weeks

*The baby is now ... ONE POUND!

How I'm feeling: No complaints! I've still got a good amount of energy, although it's getting harder to do some things (like bend over and pick stuff up). But overall, I feel pretty comfortable, and I'm desperately trying to keep my feet up as much as possible to avoid the swelling that I know is probably right around the corner.

*Physical differences from last week: Bump is growing at a rapid pace! I definitely think we're in the midst of a growth spurt. At least according to the scale, we are.

*What's been on my mind:Lots, as always. I think this week one of my goals will be to do some more research on SLR cameras. We're thinking about investing in a nice camera that will take great baby pics, since we live so far from family and several friends. We've learned that although we love our camera and it's great for vacation pictures and such, it just doesn't take great pictures of kids on the move (we can never manage to get decent pictures of our nieces when we visit). So I'd like to get something that has some manual settings that can be adjusted to take nicer photos.

*What I'm looking forward to: Another appointment with the midwives on Wednesday! I'll meet the fourth and final midwife in our practice this week, so we'll be sure we won't have a perfect stranger delivering our little guy. It should be a very routine visit, but I'll get to hear his heartbeat again, which is always fun.

*Other random thoughts: We decided to make this weekend a "baby-shopping-free" weekend, since we've been spending lots of time at Babies R Us. So we went out to dinner one night, rented a movie another night and just generally relaxed. Of course, laying around and relaxing gave me lots of time to peruse the web, so I sort of cheated ... We finally ordered our window valences (navy blue) and crib skirt (red). And then we ordered a bunch of the cloth diapers we'll be using. I'm really excited to get those, cuz they look adorable online. So I guess I sort of did some baby shopping. But I never left the comfort of my couch!
