23 weeks

*The baby is now... more than a pound (mango!).

How I'm feeling: I'm still feeling good! I get winded pretty easily and feel myself needing to sit and rest a little more than usual, especially if I'm out in the heat and/or sun. I'm being careful not to overdo it, but for the most part, I'm still pretty mobile.

*Physical differences from last week: I don't think I've changed much since last week. The growth spurt may have slowed down a bit.

*What's been on my mind: Nursery, nursery, nursery! After taking a baby shopping hiatus last weekend, we were back at it on Saturday. Our valances came in the mail, so we hit up Target to get a curtain rod and hung those up. We also hung up some block letters that spell out the little guy's name, courtesy of my Aunt Cindy. AND we finally found a toy chest! I had pretty much given up on finding one, but we came across the perfect one on Saturday. I will post updated pictures soon on how the room is looking. We should get our crib skirt in this week, too, so that will add another layer of cuteness to the room.

*What I'm looking forward to: Saturday! Saturday is viability day, a huge milestone for pregnant women. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, I'll post more about it on the official V-day. :)

*Other random thoughts: I started wondering this weekend what the little guy is going to look like. I can't wait to see him. My guess is he'll be pretty fair, with blond or light brown hair. Mike and I also were talking about saving for college, and we agreed that it would be great if he would be really smart (or athletic) and get a scholarship. Or maybe skip college and go through a shorter program like culinary school to become a chef. I told Mike that I feel like he might be a future chef. Then again, I also thought he was a girl, so what do I know?

  1. dont worry about Vday Seester, you are already there. technically 23 weeks, and in rare cases 22 weeks depending on circumstances are viable. i had my first labor and delivery visit at 23 weeks. my second at 28. i was assured both times if it came down to it, things would be done. Vday isnt cut and dry anymore. i read an article on a 21 week baby that survived! craziness. when i was preggo with Cara, Vday was 28 weeks. it has dropped so much in the past few years. i have a friend who had a 24 week baby, he is 3 years old now and just perfectly fine, just a tad small for his age.
either way i know what that day means and how happy you are to get there and past!

you are looking adorable i might add! i just want to rub the belly!!!

  3. The CU's CEO's granddaughter (got that), was born at about 1 lb. and she's 4 or something like that now... beautiful and healthy. Medical advances are amazing, so just keep cooking that little guy with love!
