ONE MONTH!

One month until my due date, people!

Well... one month until the due date that I'm going by.

Although I've been telling people that my due date is Sept. 11 throughout the whole pregnancy, my doctor's office would actually tell you that it's Sept. 13. The discrepancy is sort of a long story that involves some very long cycles on my part (hence not being able to date me in the way pregnant women usually are dated), them loosely "estimating" my due date before an ultrasound by taking my knowledge of the situation and rounding to the nearest week, and then not updating the chart when the ultrasound confirmed my dates to the exact day. I know when I got pregnant, thankyouverymuch, but since the discrepancy was only two days, they weren't concerned enough to change it on the chart, I guess.

To throw another wrench into the equation, someone also mistakenly wrote "Sept. 03" on one of my charts instead of "Sept. 13" several weeks back, and the conversation that ensued about that was rather amusing. My response was, "No, I'm not due Sept. 03. Actually, I'm due Sept. 11, but you guys think I'm due Sept. 13." So she changed it back to Sept. 13 as I rolled my eyes.

By that point, I'd gotten so used to saying Sept. 11 that it just sort of stuck. And two days doesn't make much of a difference anyway - he's going to join us whenever he darn well pleases. Plus, it's kind of funny to watch people's reaction when you tell them you're due on such an infamous day. I often get a happy "Oh!" followed by a serious "Ohhh" as the significance of the date occurs to them. Hehehe.

So anyway, that was a very long way to say that I'm ONE MONTH FROM MY DUE DATE! WHOO!

  1. HAHAHA. loved the ramble. i had those same discussions with my OB ( with kaitlyn and before i switched with kyleigh) i can tell you the DAY i got pregnant with both and MY dates were the same as the ultrasounds. not that stupid little wheel thing they go off your cycles with...not that they mattered anyways since they were all impatient little women.
There is MY ramble for the day! haha.

  3. That dumb wheel! I wanted to smack them every time that thing came out. The wheel ain't gonna work for me, yo.

People get totally uncomfortable, it's hilarious. They want to be happy for you, but they're not sure they're allowed to be happy about Sept. 11, haha.

  4. yeah, the wheel is worthless. it gives a date thats rarely accurate, and especially in cases like when you KNOW. in my case i could give then the DATE...exactly. and when the us showed the same date i was all like AHA! i was RIGHT:)~
Not that it mattered anyways since mine seemed to like to choose their own date anyways.
