The Great Big Car Seat Installation Update!

I failed to mention some very good news in my weekly post this week. Over the weekend, Mike and I drove to a nearby Phoenix fire station, where fire fighters inspect car seats to make sure they are properly installed. There has been a huge push out here for people to get their car seats inspected by local fire departments because many people install them incorrectly, which essentially renders them unsafe.

Each inspection appointment is slated for a half hour, so our appointments were at 9 and 9 :30 a.m. I wondered why it would take so long, but I think many people simply bring the car seats and have the fire fighters install it for them. Mike insisted on attempting the install, because he wants to make sure he knows how to do it.

But the inspections for both of our cars only took about a total of 10 minutes, instead of a full hour. That's because Mike's installation was practically perfect. Even the fireman was impressed -- he shook his hand and told him, "good job." I think it's safe to say he was relieved. :)

So we can safely drive the little guy home whenever he's ready to make his appearance!

P.S. It's a little surreal to see a car seat in your car every morning.
