We've been celebrating Mike's birthday in shifts this year. Not knowing when you're going to have a baby makes planning things a little dicey. I thought I might go into labor early (HA!) and wanted to make sure we were able to get some good celebratory times in first.
So about a week ago, I got some friends together for dinner/drinks. It was 10 days before his birthday, but that didn't slow down the celebration:
Mike and I also have a tradition of going out to dinner, just the two of us, either on our actual birthday or the weekend before. So on Friday, we headed out to Mi Pueblo (an excellent choice, as always). Since we looked sort of spiffy, we decided a self-portrait was in order:
And I always make him a birthday dessert of his choice. This year, it was boston cream pie:
