I'm very pregnant and have "googled" every possible phrase I can think of, looking for the magical website that will tell me exactly when I'm going to give birth.
Evidently, such a site does not exist. Bummer.
So, you tell me. When is this Rhino charging out? (Poll on the right.)
Of course, I am keeping in mind that in my first poll on this topic, most of you told me that he'd be coming out around Mike's birthday. That was a week ago, people. My trust in you has been weakened, so this is your chance to redeem yourselves.

will they only induce at 42 weeks? since you are technically past due, if you WISHED it could you ASK to be induced sooner? like even if it started as a more gentle aproach than straight to pitocin? stripping membranes? maybe cervadil and breaking your water? usually breaking the water will kick start labor. its only drawback is that then you are on a time frame of when you HAVE to have him.
ReplyDeletei give you credit for your patience. Id be in my midwife's office saying let's do this, and start the dang IV myself. lol.
the first two i never got to the getitoutofme point. kyleigh was, well, I was a mess at the end and was begging for induction from like 35 weeks on.
and i still say walk/stand till you cant anymore. keep his head as low down as you can as much as you can stand it. rock on a ball, anything that will help open your pelvis and keep the pressure of him low. his head is what will dialate and efface you most. in the the pressure. its not an old wives tale, it has real medical value. may not kick start labor, but might get your further along before hand!!!( less work later is always good!)
ReplyDeleteThey won't induce before 41 weeks. At 41 weeks, they'll induce me if I want to go that route (and they definitely will if they do the non-stress test and see a need to induce). And they won't let me go much longer than 42 weeks. So, as long as he's fine, it's up to me whether I want to be induced between 41-42 weeks or if I want to give him the extra time to come on his own.
ReplyDeleteI won't ask to induced until they decide it's necessary. I'm not a good candidate for induction yet because I'm not dilated at all. My body just isn't ready, so there's a good chance it either wouldn't work or it would be a very long process. My midwife isn't a big fan of breaking your water as an induction method because it does lock you into a time frame. And since I'm not a good induction candidate right now, there'd be a bigger chance that it would end in c-section. But if we get to the 42-week point, then I'm sure they'd be trying everything necessary.
Trust me, seester, I am walking around, ha. We are walking the neighborhood every night, and I'm still doing my stepper three - four times a week. I do as much as I can without pushing myself too much. It's hard at this point to stay active. I'm worn out. But I'm doing the best I can. :) I can tell that it's helping and he is slowly getting lower and lower. It's just not enough yet to really kickstart anything. He's just not ready, I guess.
you have a lazy little man! haha!
ReplyDeletewell, there is at least a light at the end of this very long tunnel! still have my fingers crossed he decides the next day or so would be good for him!
How bad do you want that baby out. Start talking to your cervix! Convince that sucker to start some serious dilating :) PS-You already are an awesome mommy!
ReplyDeleteI guess the one thing I haven't tried yet is talking to my cervix... hahahaha.
ReplyDeleteyeah, Maybe it's not RYAN thats lazy, its that danged cervix...you can have a lazy eye, why not a lazy cervix? it needs a stern talking to drill seargent style...lol.
